The constitution (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?threadid=26780) states:

> Article 2: Terms last One month.
>
> Article 6: Five days before the end of the month nominations shall > begin. Two days before the end of the month, the polls for all > positions of nominated members shall be posted. On the last day of > the month the winners shall be declared, and a new term shall > begin on the first day of the new month.

As we have only started 10 days before the end of July, I take it the first term will last throughout August. The hassle of an election right now seems a bit out of proportion, considering that not a whole lot has been done yet (in terms of play, not of discussion).

What do you think?

Basically yes. Since it took so long for us to get going and we've only had a single turn played then it makes sense for the next elections to be held at the end of August. I for one am not going to step down as joint science minister without a single tech researched! We should give all the ministries a chance to establish themselves and an extra month will let those who didn't quite understand enough to stand for election the first time round to get a hang of what they will be expected to do in the post they want to go for. :goodjob:

Yeah, that is a good idea for all Duke o York's reasons :).

Ditto for me. I don't think we always followed the constitution to the letter in the final months of the first demo game either. Basically whatever we can agree upon with general consensus is okay. I think waiting until the end of August for next elections makes perfect sense :goodjob:

P.S. :goodjob: Heliogabalus for checking up on us and keeping us at least within the ballpark of legality in regards to our constitution. :D

The end of August sounds fine to me although we could stop 5 days early for the elections so the last turns were played 5 days before the end of the month.

Yes, since we started the game early the general idea was to consider this first term to go through until the end of August. :)
