It was announced today that Feral Interactive is bringing Sid Meier's Pirates! to the Macintosh (August 29), under their new label "Feral Legends." So, there will be more coming, and Feral says they will run on GMA video cards. Good news for those who have been frustrated w/ their GMA card.

interesting! I haven't played it since the early '90's - I wonder if I'd still enjoy it?
Yeah, I probably will ;)

Well that figures... after waiting patiently for so long, I broke down a couple of months ago and bought Pirates! and played it in bootcamp. It was fun, and sooo nostolgic for me. It also let down the floodgates for me to play PC games on my Mac. I now bougth Civ4 and BTS for pc and am playing those in Bootcamp. Oh well, I'll still buy Pirates! mac version because I want to support Mac gaming, and because I hate booting windows on my Mac!
I played the original Pirates! on my Commodore Amiga... in the 8th grade lol! :crazyeye:

If you have a win disk, you should try getting Fusion so you can use windows in a window instead of rebooting.
And tell me if it still runs smoothly ;) so I know for myself.

FWIW, I hope that, someday, Civ II will be released in a version that's playable on modern Apple computers. I'm so nostalgic, sometimes.
