Civ4 vanilla on new MacBook crashes frequently, but ALWAYS when clicking on the 'toggle tile grid' button or keying command-T.

I can play for a while, but it seems slow and anytime I try to turn on the gridlines it crashes.

I hope that this is not a duplicate. I seem to have lost my first attempt at this post.

MacBook (purchased Monday), 2.1 GHz Intel
1 GB RAM, 80 GB free on HD
OSX 10.5.4
Civ4 vanilla patched to 1.74

Long time Mac user & long time Civ *3* user, but this is my first Intel Mac & first time using Civ4

Installed Civ4 & patched it
Civ4 crashes

deleted Civ4 folder in Applications
re-installed Civ4 & patched it
Civ4 crashes

deleted Civ4 folder in Applications
deleted Civ4 folder in ~/documents
deleted Civ4 folder in ~/library/Application support/
deleted patch installer
emptied trash
Restarted Mac
downloaded new copy of patch installer via Firefox
copied installer to desktop & ejected installer 'disk'
re-installed Civ4 & patched it
Civ4 crashes

Ran Disk Utility (This disk appears to be okay)

I looked through the Civ4 Mac forum but if there is anything about this issue I missed it.

Does anyone have any ideas about how to fix this?

Thank you for your time.

Hello. Welcome :wavey:

A Google search for "Turn grid on" gives several mentions of this problem. I think the most recent was here (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=263320). It seems to have turned up with the more recent graphics hardware options in Macs.

As far as I know there is no known solution, apart from avoiding toggling the grid.
