View Full Version : New Unit Ideas

I was thinking that it could be a good idea to have a new unit as in a troop with a rocket launcher that while not as powerful as the artillery and air radar units could be used for attacking targets such as tanks as well as air targets. It would be an invaluable troop to add to the game. Unfortunately I can not create this unit myself as I haven't downloaded the unit creation
equipment and don't have the skills. Anyway, there's an idea for any unit creators out there. I mean even if there were two variations it wouldn't matter. I just think that would be a cool troop to have. What do others reckon?

Also what do people reckon about the creation of a thread for the posting of only modern units that are in service today? I am looking for feedback on that idea. I don't exactly like having to wade through futuristic or ancient units to find what I want. This could be a good project, I think.

Meanwhile, keep up the aerial power. Healz

Remember to give an explaination of what it looks like for these guys, but isn't that meant to be some kind of Roman seige machine?

Sorry, I wasn't meaning to be rude, but I was just meaning that you can't expect them to be able to read your mind and should provide something for them to work off. I know I haven't quite done that but I have provided some explanation of my purposes for the unit. It's the pot from the camp fire, calling the pot from the electric stove, black I suppose. Still...

Please, note all, this is not meant to replace the unit library but rather to complement it by serving as an index for all the modern units to make for easier browsing. I would like some responses please to let me know more about what people reckon about a modern units library.

Although not too many people have logged in I have decided that a modern units library should begin with the units of WWI and go right through until the present although I wouldn't include any futuristic units. My main aim is to be a consolidating point for those that are producing a large quantity of modern units. This idea is not to take over from the well-maintained unit library but to maybe relieve some of the pressure that has been building up from a large number of modern units being posted. This will be a project that I will undertake to help all of you to find the units that you want faster and easier.

I have found the soldier that I wanted and it was good. Really good, clean animation. It wasn't quite a modern soldier but all the same it would make a good stand in for a rocket trooper with a rocket launcher.

what unit was it?

I think it was under the title of rocket soldier. Anyway, I know it had the word rocket in it which was why I tried it. I was going to use it as a soldier with a bombard value like is seen with some of the missile systems designed to take out planes and tanks as well as troops.

Now I know that I can talk to Thunderfall about going ahead with the Modern Units forum with the knowledge that there is a 46.66% margin between those who wanted the forum and those against.

Why not classify all the units posted at the forum so it would be easier for everyone to find what they want? This would be a whole lot better than just dumping all the units together. Just a suggestion. And yes, wrong forum.

It's certainly easier finding units here than it is at Apolyton. I can't even be bothered looking over there...
