Can a great General "imbue" a siege unit with warlord power? Seems like an artillery with tactics would be pretty awesome. 55% chance to withdraw?
Also same question but for a ship. Can he give a ship 20 experience and free upgrades? That would be pretty awesome too. I haven't tried these myself because I currently don't have a game anywhere close to a great general. But I would like to know.

Wow really!? I can make a SUPER battleship?
What's the graphic look like? Commander stands in the water behind the boats?

Nope, the commander just... vanishes. I guess he's onboard.

I think it would be better if you give let's say a trebuchet Morale (+1 movement) and city raider for the of the promotions. It can keep up with the Mounted units and just have spies demolish the Defensive bonus. Use the treb to damage any units that may kill your mounted units.
I have never tried this but it might be interesting.

I'm not sure how beneficial it is to blow a great general on a suicide unit. ;)

haven't used trebs in a while, but they should get pretty decent odds with defenses gone
especially a super-treb

I believe if you bump up the treb's city raider skill it increases its chances to withdraw so if you can get in the ninties would withdrawn most times at least.

I remember reading about somebody who liked to put a GG on a siege...
I think he used it as city-defense reducer , and only used it for attack in mop-up. The idea being that the treb was one of the last in the stack to defend.

This idea was more valid in Warlords, when Siege units could get Combat I promotions. A Medic III Trebuchet is the best Classical/Medieval Medic (barring Quechas), because it had a strength of 4 and will almost never defend.
