Is there a way to limit how far civs can advance? As in not being able to discover techs past a certain point?
Lol hope this makes sense.
Thanks in advance.

Personally i have only seen this kind of option available in the game 'Rise of Nations'. aside from mods, there is nothing. All you can do is slow things down by using 'epic' game speed and no tech trading. There is no way to limit advancement unless you figure out some way to mod the game into doing that. Do not change the cost of everything to make it impossible to research after a certian point, the AI will still try. As mystikmind said, there are mods that expand on a certian time period such as Genghis Khan, Alexander, Omens, and Chinese Unification. (No mod for middle ages:() Welcome to CFC, crociv! Ginger_Ale Aug 09, 2008, 06:11 PM You guys might want to check out the instructions in this post (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?p=7074892#post7074892). I haven't tried it, but it seems like it would work. It assumes you have some familiarity with modding in Civ4, although it is just simple text editor changes. If you have more questions, it's probably best to post in that thread (or PM that user). |
