Welcome to CFC, Slint! This expansion pack is set to be released in September 2008 (next month). As for an exact date, I'm not sure.
Greybriar Aug 10, 2008, 01:04 PM Welcome to the Civilization Fanatics forums, Slint! :wavey:
Niptium Aug 10, 2008, 01:36 PM It is not an expansion pack, it is another game completely. With Colonization you don't need to : 1-Have Civilization 4, 2- Even know how to play Civilization.
Onionsoilder Aug 10, 2008, 07:20 PM Yep. It's not an expansion pack. It is a stand-alone game. It just happens to run on the same engine.
Slint Aug 11, 2008, 09:20 AM i will check this colonization, he have beautiful graphics, but i'm talking about a 3 expansion for civ 4... colonization will have few civs... i like huge maps with 18 civs!
maybe the expansion could be replace the graphics of civ4 for this of colonization. it's the same game engine!
look that sea and ships! hootchie mama!

Lord Shadow Aug 11, 2008, 09:54 AM Well, I think it's being marketed as a 'standalone expansion pack', so perhaps it can be officially integrated to Civ4 in some way, even if it doesn't require it to run in the first place.
Dale Aug 11, 2008, 05:35 PM Different shader technology between the two. Most likely can't be ported back to Civ4.
player1 fanatic Aug 13, 2008, 10:45 AM Nor would be legal to port Colonization graphics assets back Civ4.
BlackMage Aug 13, 2008, 02:18 PM Nor would be legal to port Colonization graphics assets back Civ4.
Which is a shame, because that water effect is smexy.
Jerrymander Aug 13, 2008, 07:17 PM Nor would be legal to port Colonization graphics assets back Civ4.
Ah, but if someone built water assets from the ground-up, it wouldn't be. There is a Colonization-like water effect in the Downloads section, under Graphical Modpacks.
Edit: Atlantic Beach is not that far away from my residence.

Assuming you can import Col models into blender, couldn't you just export with the Civ4 settings and get it work?
