I know this may belong in the c&c forum, but I figured the mac people would understand this better. Anyway...

I tried to make a simple reskin of the bear into a panda to try it out, but when I loaded my file and looked in the civolopedia the skin wasnt applied. I have added other skins with no problem but mine failed.

I opened a copy of the dds file in GraphicConverter, changed it to a .psd, edited w/ photoshop and then reconverted the file.

I cant find anything wrong, but I was wondering if anyone else has done this or has something to add.

Well, after a bit of searching and tinkering, I found an application called SquishDDS which worked for me.

To make a skin, I used graphicconverter to change the dds file into a psd for photoshop (also works as a png converter for GIMP), edited my file in photoshop and used squish to convert it back to dds. Squish only converts files into dds, not dds to anything else so you will still need GraphicConverter.
