View Full Version : 1st Thread- How excited are you about this game? Abaddon Aug 17, 2008, 12:03 PM w00p w00p! :king: Anyone looking forwards to the real deal rather than just the editor? thomas.berubeg Aug 17, 2008, 12:10 PM Yes! so much that I'm getting a job to get money to buy a computer on which it will run! Abaddon Aug 17, 2008, 12:11 PM What are Guestimated requirements? thomas.berubeg Aug 17, 2008, 12:13 PM i don't remember... I'm bassing it on what the creature creator needed... but i'll see when the game comes out. Abaddon Aug 17, 2008, 12:18 PM The official website say anything? a space oddity Aug 17, 2008, 03:58 PM You can test it on: http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest Abaddon Aug 17, 2008, 04:06 PM Minimum: 2.0 GHz P4 processor or equivalent You Have: Mobile AMD Sempron(tm) Processor 3400+ This is a fail.. eh? Also, I have had the creator running (tested for creator) and it failed me.. yet I have been running it! a space oddity Aug 17, 2008, 04:10 PM I figure things look good for you then... :D leonel Aug 17, 2008, 04:21 PM I'm so excited, I already set aside a week from work to play it! I've also specially bought a monitor arm that will bring my monitor to my recliner for it and got new glasses so I can see it in its awesome glory. Although granted I was going to get a monitor arm anyway and the glasses are just part of my yearly eye exam. :D Also the new Spore sub forum was all me! YOU HEAR ME?! ALL MEEEE!!! GoodGame Aug 17, 2008, 09:57 PM My rose-tinted excitement has kind of faded since SporeCC. I think they would have been better off with a surprise mid-summer release. I'm thinking the game complexity will be a little shallow, since they're obviously aiming it at grade school to young adult, but whatever, give me my disks. Nylan Aug 17, 2008, 11:56 PM I'm apprehensive that the game will be too simple, or that it will go Fable on me. I have hope though. :) a space oddity Aug 18, 2008, 02:38 AM I'm apprehensive that the game will be too simple, or that it will go Fable on me. I have hope though. :) Soren Johnson has successfully lobbied for difficulty levels, there are three in the game now: easy, normal and hard. It is rumored that Will Wright wasn't able to beat the game on hard yet. :) Harbringer Aug 18, 2008, 05:18 AM Yes, I was very excited until I realized theyre target audience was "Mass appeal" and not strategy gamer minded players. This isnt necessarily a bad thing, but the game just looks all around to shallow at this point for me to have much excitement anymore. mythmonster2 Aug 18, 2008, 01:56 PM Crud, I failed the system requirements test. Then again, I also failed half of my favorite games so I'm not worried. philippe Aug 18, 2008, 03:19 PM I'll see how it goes. I'm surprised there is a subforum for this! Chieftess Aug 18, 2008, 06:38 PM I'm apprehensive that the game will be too simple, or that it will go Fable on me. I have hope though. :) I've been getting a bit apprehensive over the past year, too. I may wait a week or two to see how the reviews are. It is rumored that Will Wright wasn't able to beat the game on hard yet. :) They said the same thing about the developers on Civ3. Loppan Torkel Aug 19, 2008, 12:53 PM What is it to be excited about? I haven't seen anything special when it comes to gameplay. It's innovative and ambitious, but so was Black&White and that game was fun until the novelty wore off. It looks like a flop to me, with initially excellent reviews. mrt144 Aug 19, 2008, 01:16 PM Very excited! Very. Popcornlord Aug 20, 2008, 09:13 AM I've been waiting for at least 3 years and extremely excited to finally get my hands on the game. leonel Aug 20, 2008, 09:51 AM What is it to be excited about? Not even the first, say, two years? :p I think we can cut them some slack, it is new and unexplored territory, no doubt there will be lots of room for improvement. I will make sure I will experience the first version in all its fresh self. :D Loppan Torkel Aug 20, 2008, 05:14 PM Such a killjoy!:mischief: I'm just trying to spread realistic expectations... But honestly, I don't understand how this game can get so hyped up. leonel Aug 20, 2008, 05:43 PM :mischief: I'm just trying to spread realistic expectations... But honestly, I don't understand how this game can get so hyped up. Well for me at least, it isn't stone-paper-scissor unit gameplay or balancing between governmental and citizen desires, but the ability to create something by yourself and have it interact with the game environment is what really makes me look forward to it. I mean I've had the idea of sapient Corvid's in my imagination for a long time and now I have the chance to make it a game reality! Sure it's simple right now but Spore 2 could be more deeper and involved. After all, SimCity and Civilization were new IP's with simple gameplay that eventually evolved their more complicated and involved descendants SimCity 4 and Civilization 4. Just think of this as Spore Classic to the next Spore's. :) Chieftess Aug 21, 2008, 05:11 PM You didn't enjoy Civ3 then? It's great to know the wait is now only 2 weeks! Luckily, I only have two days of school to go through before I get my hands on the game, so it won't be too bad. Then, all the weekend is mine for Sporing! leonel Aug 22, 2008, 10:05 AM I just hope my stuff and monitor arm part comes in before Spore! I'm intending to start playing from my recliner 'cause I want to game in style. :D salty mud Aug 22, 2008, 10:27 AM I just hope my stuff and monitor arm part comes in before Spore! I'm intending to start playing from my recliner 'cause I want to game in style. :D It's the only true way TO game! ;) I can't wait to destroy some solar systems with my evil army of teddy bears! Lord_Iggy Aug 22, 2008, 03:25 PM I've been thrilled ever since I first saw the post 'SPORE: SimEarth Game' back in March 2006. It was just after I'd gotten highspeed internet, so I was able to watch the video. I am a big fan of SimEarth, and had, at the time, been considering how awesome the game would be with modern graphics. I saw that in Spore. Later, I learned just how much more Spore was, and my excitement took off from there. salty mud Aug 22, 2008, 05:16 PM And w00t, w00t, w00t! My computer easily exceeds Spore's minimum requirements! lord_joakim Aug 28, 2008, 10:28 AM Gratulations on the Spore subforum! :D And I am seriously excited about the Civ phase. The Diplomacy part was especially great, it reminded me of Civ4. :D |
