Night of the Werewolves: The Tears of Danalin
It is said that in the last days of the Aifons, the Mage Trenton Majosi crafted a Ritual. A ritual so powerful, it would shatter the compact, allowing Danalin, father of the Aifons to enter creation to save the Aifons.
But Trenton knew that doing so would allow other gods, more dangerous gods, into creation, setting a new spark to the eternal conflict that was the godswar. A conflict that would spread to creation and destroy all the humanity had built since the compact had been signed.
And so, Trenton refused to save his people at the price of humanity.
As the cries of the last Aifons were snuffed out, Danalin despaired, and turned from creation, preferring an endless sleep to the misery of reality.
Legend says, though, that Danalin cried as he slept, that these tears fell from his face, and slipped through the cracks between Danalin’s realm and creation.
As Danalin slept, and Passionate Bhall fell dragging her people into hell with her, a people far in the north of Erebus discovered the Ritual Trenton had refused to use. These were a cold and harsh people, and they called forth their god.
Centuries passed in Mulcarn’s Frozen clutches, and the proud Patrian people collapsed into small bickering tribes…
Tribes, that after Mulcarn’s Defeat at the hands of Kylorin, would grow again, separate, but powerful.
And so, many years after Danalin turned away from creation, the land rose up over the lost city of the Aifons, and, growing from the inherent holiness of the place, on the island grew a plant. A plant so holy, only it could be used to call to the gods.
And so, when this island was discovered in the Aegean, it is perfectly natural that it be settled, first by a pirate people, rude and flamboyant, who’s purpose in life was to drink, smuggle, steal, and make money…
To the Bannor, this abomination could not continue. The plants needed good masters, holy ones, masters able to properly care for them. And so the Bannor War machine set forth, and took what they saw as rightfully theirs.
An uneasy peace settled over the island and the city of Portston, the Bannor doing what they do best, and the Lanun, quietly and secretly, also doing what they do best.
Until the death of Captain Creaver, the old retired Lanun sea pirate…
