Lord Shadow Aug 27, 2008, 01:25 PM Those are a lot of questions! Try checking the Colonization Information Center (http://www.civfanatics.com/civ4/colonization) and the several previews first. ;)
Also, don't click the "Submit" button so many times. You triple-posted this thread. :mischief:

For the rest of the questions you can do a little research on these forums. A lot can be answered by browsing these boards and listening to the podcast that was posted a few weeks back. they answer pretty much everything you asked.
Supr49er Aug 27, 2008, 01:52 PM I know the answers to your questions for the old Colonization.
But the new one isn't out yet, and I haven't played it - even a beta version.

4. No. founding Fathers replace wonders and great people in a sense. You build up Liberty bell resources with statesmen, and use them to buy FF's. They're effects are the same as wonders.
7. No they aren't. You need iron for guns. There is a FF who's special ability is
that citizens take up arms if there are guns stored.
9. You send you're ship to Europe, which takes two turns. You sell resources and take back what you need (warriors, settlers, resources, etc.) and ship 'em back home in two more turns.
10. No, but there are things like the seven cities of gold and the fountain of youth which gives boosts, and there can be several of each in every game.
11. Yes. I know a guy who has built a Colonization Mod already.

11. Yes. I know a guy who has built a Colonization Mod already. There still are rumors which worked kinda like goodie huts in civ4. the fountain of youth however is no longer in the game.
I-am-a-panda Aug 28, 2008, 11:33 AM oh sorry about that!!!
Lord Shadow Aug 29, 2008, 09:40 AM 4. No. founding Fathers replace wonders and great people in a sense. You build up Liberty bell resources with statesmen, and use them to buy FF's. They're effects are the same as wonders.
No, that was in the original. Now each FF category requires a particular amount of 'points'. I've seen political and exploration points, for example, necessary to 'buy' the FFs in the corresponding areas. Precisely how these points are earned is still something of a mystery. Liberty bells are probably related to political points, whereas crosses might be the main influence on religious points.
7. No they aren't. You need iron for guns. There is a FF who's special ability is that citizens take up arms if there are guns stored.
No. Again, that was in the original. Now citizens take up arms if available by default. No FF needed. Also, you need tools to make muskets. The ore (iron) is used to make tools in the first place.

Berba Sep 12, 2008, 11:13 AM More questsions!!
Can you be able to see Europe on the map????
TheDS Sep 12, 2008, 12:30 PM 11. Can you Custom Game??
11. Yes. I know a guy who has built a Colonization Mod already.
That's not what he's asking.
Yes, there is the option for a custom game, but it's not clear what all the options are you can choose from.
Lord Shadow Sep 12, 2008, 02:54 PM More questsions!!
Can you be able to see Europe on the map????
No. Europe is off-map, and won't be visible.
Berba Sep 13, 2008, 02:28 AM No. Europe is off-map, and won't be visible.
So if you send troops to europe its a lottery if you take over a town???
Honolulu Blue Sep 13, 2008, 03:13 AM So if you send troops to europe its a lottery if you take over a town???
There's no reason to ever send troops to Europe. You can't conquer any part of it, you can't put any pressure on the king that way, and they'll come to you during the revolution.

Yeah, i understand now, I must survive Europe not Conquer them!!...
Thanks
Berba Sep 16, 2008, 12:27 PM What function do Elder Statesmen have??
:):)
Lord Shadow Sep 16, 2008, 12:30 PM They generate twice as much liberty bells when placed at a town hall.
Berba Sep 16, 2008, 12:45 PM Okidoki, does it exist any pictures of all the native American leaders???
Lord Shadow Sep 16, 2008, 06:55 PM Not all, but check the gallery on this site. There's a few there.
Berba Sep 19, 2008, 12:56 PM Hello questsion again!!
Is there still great people in the game???
Lord Shadow Sep 19, 2008, 01:24 PM Just great generals, it seems. Apparently they work just like in Civ4.
Berba Sep 19, 2008, 01:29 PM Just great generals, it seems. Apparently they work just like in Civ4.
Ok, and another quest. Is the world "cylindrical" or "flat", like, you can sail around the world... :)??
:):)
Lord Shadow Sep 19, 2008, 02:04 PM Flat. Given it's only a portion of the planet (America or a randomly generated New World), moving a ship to deep ocean tiles should prompt you to choose whether to sail to Europe or stay where you are.
Berba Sep 21, 2008, 09:47 AM One more questsion:
Do you found colonies with for example Expert Farmer???
Btw, how do you shorten for example, an what's e.g???
Honolulu Blue Sep 21, 2008, 10:38 AM One more questsion:

e.g. = for example
You can found a colony with an Expert Farmer, or just about anyone (not converted natives).
Berba Sep 21, 2008, 10:45 AM e.g. = for example
You can found a colony with an Expert Farmer, or just about anyone (not converted natives).
Yeah, you mean with all expert "dudes"... not with e.g veteran solider???
Lord Shadow Sep 21, 2008, 02:21 PM You can found a colony with any type of colonist. Soldiers are considered colonists. Probably you can't build a settlement with a treasure unit, though.
e.g. = exampli gratia = for example :p
Dale Sep 21, 2008, 05:48 PM Okidoki, does it exist any pictures of all the native American leaders???
Yep: http://apolyton.net/colonization/11/281/513/
Lord Shadow Sep 21, 2008, 07:47 PM It's nice to see all those new leaderheads. :)
Except Huayna Capac and Montezuma, but that was inevitable.
Berba Sep 22, 2008, 06:40 AM It's nice to see all those new leaderheads. :)

Plus the Sioux Leader :):)
But I'm disapionted of the cherokee Leader :(
Berba Sep 22, 2008, 06:45 AM ...Probably you can't build a settlement with a treasure unit, though...
E.g one you have get when you have captured a town, or when you'd founded a colonist in a native american burial ground???
Like Bounus colonists???
Or What's a treasure unit?? :):):)
Berba Sep 22, 2008, 06:45 AM One More Questsion:
