View Full Version : Civ IV, Warlords, BTS Patches?
shrekiejai Aug 29, 2008, 05:02 AM I've picked up Civ IV again and noticed there's been a few patches out.
I've Civ IV, Warlords and BTS, do I need to patch each game individually or would getting the latest BTS patch will do?
Also, I noticed BTS has several patches. Do I just need to get the latest patch? Or all of them?
Thank in advance!
JujuLautre Aug 29, 2008, 06:38 AM If you want to play BTS, patch BTS. If Warlords, patch warlords. If Vanilla, patch vanilla. In each case, the latests will do.
shrekiejai Aug 29, 2008, 08:55 AM I thought BTS has everything that Warlord has (except scenarios)? And obviously both have everything vanilla had?
So would the latest BTS patch fix the bugs fixed in the latest Warlord patch?
And ditto for vanilla?
J-man Aug 29, 2008, 09:08 AM No, the BtS patch only patches BtS, not Vanilla or Warlords.
shrekiejai Aug 29, 2008, 09:09 AM Hmm... so if I patch BtS, and then I play BtS, does that fix any bugs introduced in Warlords?
Sorry for being such a noob
J-man Aug 29, 2008, 09:20 AM The BtS patch doesn't affect Warlords. Even if a new BtS patch introduces new bugs (which happens quite often) those bugs won't be in Warlords.
Vladesch Aug 29, 2008, 09:20 AM If you patch BTS it wont make any difference to warlords. They are separate games.
However BTS has everything that warlords has so there is no reason to either patch or play warlords.
Unless you want to play with "old" leaders that have different tratts, or an old balance where (for example) chariots didnt get a bonus against axeman.
TLDR version: Just patch BTS and play BTS.
You might want to grab the unofficial patch too. (though not if you want to play online)
