View Full Version : Unable to tech trade?

Alright, so I don't have tech trading or brokering off. I have the latest patch. New install. I have alphabet. I did a bit of early game editing so everyone has seen eachother (Lion in the middle of the ocean, immeditly deleted).

...Somehow, I can trade technologies with one, and only one, nation. I can no trade technologies wit other, closer nations, whither their on the contenent or not.

I don't get it, its not that their refusing the trade, its that the forign advisor says the trading isn't allowed. Why the hell isn't it allowed? Are there new requirements on tech trading?

Please post a save, that will help us immensly...

Go down to "Manage Attachments" (underneath the place where you post your reply), click it (it's a button, between the text box, and previous replies), and browse to find the save, then upload it.

Is tech brokering OFF or ON? Apparently you "Don't have ... Tech brokering off", which implies it is on, which means that it is possible (albiet unlikely) that someone has provided everyone else with techs

Another thing is that AI players cannot trade techs the turn they get it, and they can't trade techs the turn you meet them, so try waiting one more turn and see if you can trade with them again...

No, form Thecbrokering or whatever it would show a empty list of tradeable techs (and the brokered techs in "Can't Trade" section...)

It only say "Tech Trading is Not allowed" when no one has ABC afaik.

Do you use any mod ?

And yeah, savegame.

I thought that he had his techs in the 'can't trade' section of the foriegn advisor... but I am not even 100% sure if that is the case...

huh... this would be something new to me...

AFAIK it is enought if one side has ABC.

Tech trading does not have nothing at all to do with trade network.

From what you describe the 2 guys you can trade with have Alphabeth, while you and the others don't.

As for the trade network I just wanted to add that it can't be the problem (I wasn't sure if it's necessary).

My mistake. I messed up alphabet and writing.

Mea cula, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa.

In the game I researched writing and for some reason thought it is the tehnology needed to trade tehnologies.

When I saw this tread it reminded me of a problem I had but it wasn't really a problem but my stupidity.

Without a Save, nothing can be confirmed...

It may be a simple misunderstanding... words are so inadequate...

Thankfully, the thread starter is due to come back in just under 2 hours time :D

It does not matter which side has ABC - the AI or the player or both. As soon as one side has ABC you can trade.

So in your example, if Lincoln has ABC you and anyone else has not, everyone can Techtrade with Lincoln. You can techtrade with lincoln, but with no one else.

But in this situation, the player has Alphabet, which means that he *should* be able to trade with everyone else...

I think the OP situation is different from Bob's situation... Which makes the overall situation even more obscured... :D
But you are right, we should wit for that save.
