Not for me (I'd consider making the video for others), but sometimes seeing what the player does is the best way to learn. And there is then a reference for every single moment in the game, instead of people having to write and try to cover everything necessary. And the game is highly visual.
Anyone up for it? I'd do it but I'm not sure how I'd go about recording it.

that would be an insanely large video.

that would be an insanely large video.
Personally, I can play through a game in about 4 hours. And the early game takes much less, the first 100 turns about 30-40 minutes probably(normal speed), the first 150 in an 60-80 minutes.
But, you did make me think of something else. The videos could be split up into sections, like early-game, mid-game, late-game, etc. And some of the mid/late game is monotonous, so perhaps it could be less comprehensive/lengthy (even if that just means speeding up the video).

It would be so boring that watching Epic movie would feel less painful

You think so? I find it fun to watch other people play. Of course being able to control the speed of the video helps.

I'd like to see TheMeInTeam playing one of his 100 min Domination games (in slow motion of course).

Not a bad idea but instead of games, make videos that demonstrate strategies instead.
Showing a game replay will teach viewers how to handle a specific situation with specific circumstances. In CIV a person needs to adapt to his/her circumstances. For instance, you could show a replay of an early rush on a pangea map. This will not help a person playing a peaceful leader on continants much.
On the other hand, videos that demonstrated topics like:
City specialisation
SE economy
Using seige to fight a war
Killing zones
And others would give players ideas on how to handle different game situations.
Perhaps these videos could even be nested with their War Academy/CIV Info articles.

Actually I slapped on a video of civ3 on youtube and got over 11 000 hits. Mustbe about 8 monthes gone by. You get the odd remark like "Wo!, you can mod this game"? So I lead them here and its helped expand the modding frontier a lil
Not bad for a 2 minute bit of mangy film. You can here me caugh up something nasty I caught from work that week, so um...ya not sure that helped. :(
But there is definantly some demand for a high production highlight reel of civ4 footage I bet. By demand I mean 100 000+ on youtube within a year span, which is still relativly small estimate when you think some lil weirdo rapper G 'soldier boy' rip-off artist cops like 10 million views a month :)

I did this for WC3 once with Fraps (program) and still have it installed so maybe I'll give it a go for the BC years or something. There might be better programs out there that I don't know of, but at least I managed to get 15 minutes of WC3 into ~60 MB (no sound) after compressing.
