I tried playing the Earth 18 custom scenario, but I can't customize any of the options! Am I missing something? All the custom options are grayed out. I don't want to play with barbarians, and I want aggressive AI and Permanent Alliances.

Does anyone know how to change the settings for the Earth 18 custom scenario? If not, is there a way to temporarily mod the settings in?

Pick "custom scenario" rather than "scenario".

I did that. The options are still all grayed out. I can't change anything.

I never choose the straight up "quick play". Always custom ;)

There are things you can't change and things you can.

You can't change the difficulty for any of your opponents - only yours.

You can't change the map. You can change the game speed.

You can change all of the other mechanics, like "No Barbs" or "Raging Barbs" and so forth.

You can change which victories are allowed.

hmmm... I wonder why all my options were grayed out. I better check that I'm not a spaz when I get home and try again. This is a likely scenario...
