Hello,

I have an annoying problem. I've read other topics before, but I didn't find an answer to my question. The problem is, that each time my custom game is loading the game crashes and I have a message "Sid....Civilization has stoped working. Windows is looking for solutions". I have to say thou that I didn't try to load any other game type, like scenario or play now. First time, when I launched my custom game it started, but when I pressed build city it crashed, and now it crashes all the time during loading. I've tried to lower my graphic settings, downloaded driver update for my geforce 8600GT, but the problem did no vanish.

About the drivers. I downloaded it from dell.com, but in the driver details were no GeForce 8600GT. I've installed it successful. I've downloaded few drivers from laptopvideo2go, but non of them were able to install in my computer (there is always a problem, like nothing found which would accept these drivers). And talking about programs stopped working on my vista, old civ4 crashed as well, but it was rare. GTA4:SA too, almost one time per every single game. But now I can't even begin playing BTS.

May this be the problem with 3.13 patch? I did not try to play without it. Is there a possibility to uninstall only this patch and leave BTS expansion pack? By the way, I have Dell inspiron 1520 with 2gb ram, 2Mhz core duo and geforce 8600GT 256MB.

Please HELP me. Iwant BTS!!!!!

there is a 3.17 patch out now.

my second solution would be to roll back to XP ;)

I had this problem with 3.17 on Vista, but it went away when I removed the BAT or BUG mod (forgot which is which, the one that changes graphics).

Works fine now. Do you have any mods installed?

Civ works fine with vista. Ignore everyone who tells you that you should go back to XP. I'm using vista right now. In fact 64 bit vista

I'd try a reinstall...
I have some weird XML error when I load but that's it...

I use bug all the time and sometimes giant earth map mod.

I've never ever crashed once.
never.

I use ultimate 64bits and I play naked.

try that.

Try reinstalling Civ IV somewhere other than the Programs folder. Vista is weird about protecting programs in the Programs file folder from modification and I've had problems running games from that location. I install all my games in Vista in a separate Games folder. A long-shot, but it might work.
