Can you get "game over" in Spore?

If all creatures at your nest are killed, if your village or all your cities are destroyed?

I think you just restart like if you die.

It's not possible to get an 'official' game over, but it's possible to make mistakes that will completely prevent advancement, so you do have to be careful that you don't save a losing game.

In Spore you can end up being your only remaining lifeform of your specie. And game over is somewhat archieved at the point where you get owned every 10 seconds (Naturally unselected ...)

Game Over is when:

You defeat the grox
Get to the centre
or Take over the whole galaxy
