I just installed the 1.74 Civ Vanilla patch, and whereas Vanilla loads perfectly, Warlords is not. With Warlords I get an xml load error: "Failed loading XML file XML \GameInfo/Civ4PlayerOptionInfos.xml."

I am running Leopard OS.

1. I assume Warlords worked OK before the 1.74 update?

2. Are you sure that vanilla is now version 1.74? Check in GetInfo for the application file, and check the version info in-game - About This Build.

It sounds as though the patch has not worked correctly. The failing file is common to Civ4 and Warlords, and as far as I can tell, it should not be affected by the patch.

1. yes Warlords worked fine before.

2. Yes, the Civ version in-game shows "1.7.4.0"

I moved the application file around in my hard drive and now when I try to load Warlords I get a very long array of XML errors (units, leaderheads mostly).

You can't move the Warlords app file anywhere. It must live in the Warlords folder inside the Civilization IV app folder.

I fixed it. That'll teach me not to muck around with file paths again.

BTW: I would suggest going and getting 2.13. It's the latest and greatest.
