Ok, I just reinstalled the mod, the patch, and the art files. Just to make sure I had done it right. Then, I tested two games as the UFP. First, with Assimilation on. I was able to build buildings after I had taken the enemy planets...but when I took the capital, I could no longer build buildings anywhere.
I then ran it with Assimilation setting off. Same result. So it has nothing to do with assimilation. I don't know what is causing this issue.
It's very frustrating.

I did some more testing using a save file from each test. I went into world builder and removed all of the buildings, and still got the error, so this does not appear to be tied to buildings.
I am wondering about what happens in Assimilation code when you have conquered the entire race...but in my Assimilation off test, there was still another city under the alien civ's control after I had taken their capital.
I am running with Beta 3 and patch 2.

Sorry I didn't see this thread - ignore my previous two responses to you in the other threads (except the screenshots part). Do you know if there are any national wonders in the city that causes the problem? I remember I wanted to change the capture code for them but didn't because nobody was reporting further problems at the time.

Deanej, I just posted the relevant save files. It only happens when I take the capital city/world. I think it's tied to the palace or something that the AI typically builds in the capital.

That might be true. I just encountered the bug while testing the High to Low challenge option from Kael's Assimilation mod, which I've incorporated into MOO2Civ (Patch4e) recently.:( (Posted a test result w/screenshots on the MOO2Civ thread, see sig below.)

I think it's the power plant.

Could you post a save? I made a LOT of changes to that code (my changes are not released yet, though), so it would be a good idea for me to test it before making any changes. There are so many buildings that get destroyed on city capture that I'm hesitant to make any more like that unless absolutely necessary.

no way of getting save but every time I got the bug there was a power plant in the city and none in citys before that one. the bug went away when I captured a city with a Orbital ? (forgot name) but came back next city with a power plant I took. (IDK what will happen if the city has both. never took a city with both)

Well, I tried it with the DS9 scenario (Ferenginar has a fusion reactor) and didn't get the bug. I'm guessing that there may have been a problem with it that got fixed and I never noticed it.

well I did only get the bug 2 times so it may be something else. maybe the # of a certain building you captured. (may not be just 1 building may take 2 of 3 buildings? power plant + something else.) or because the city you took with powerplant had a certain building also it didn't trigger bug.
