I realize this forum is for the original game but for those wanting to try the new version it is in stores now with the rather clumsy name 'Sid Meiers Civilization IV Colonization'. In spite of the name it is a stand-alone game so Civ4 is not required to play it.

There was a poll asking how this game should be referred to in the forums and out of 136 people voting the results were:

Col2 55
C4C 23
Civ4Col 15
Col 13

Some of the other options were: CCol, Col4, CivCol, Clon, Colonization Two and Ethel the Aardvark goes Quantity Surveying

I've played the original Sid Meier's Colonization extensively and am now playing his latest version of that game. For me at least it is Col2.

Civilization 4 mod Colonization

Doesn't matter what you call it - but I think it would be a decent successor to G.W. Bush as google's "miserable failure" query.

and not a game

The Col2 patch is now available with Enhancements, Balance Fixes and Bug Fixes.
