this happens when i try to install the game. i have a new laptop with a dvd/rom. could that be the problem. any and all help on this will be very appreciated

could you open windows event manager and look for this error, then copy and paste the text here? I'd like to see those funny characters...

Edit: oh and what language is you operating system set to? is it an english OS or one using a non-latin language?
