Okay immediately after installing the new patch 1.74 I got an error telling me the dll file was missing I downloaded that, put it back in and it came up saying that the shader http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shader libraries are missing, so I tried uninstalling it and got the error below and so, was not able to uninstall http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uninstaller it or for that matter RE install it.

and to top it all off now that i've reinstalled the 1.74 patch i'm getting a missing boost python.dll error

try to uninstall the game again, then set your operating system to display hidden files and open the program files\installshield installation information folder and delete this folder:

CFBCE791-2D53-4FCE-B3FB-D6E01F4112E8

then try reinstalling the game, then patch to 1.61, then patch to 1.74, then install this:

Thanks but I got the problem sorted out I downloaded a free third party uninstaller and it did the trick.
