View Full Version : King continues to tax after Independence won
tour86rocker Sep 29, 2008, 05:38 AM 1. Load the game.
2. Choose a single player game.
3. win by independence victory
4. "Just one more turn!"
5. continue playing and your king will call you up and raise your taxes eventually
c. Write what you observed. (i.e., "The game crashes when I was doing....").
I just thought it was silly
d. What you expected to happen.
I would expect that the king would stop calling after you've won (I know that it's probably not a high priority to fix this; I just thought I'd mention it)

-He will also ship treasure away for you
marstinson Sep 29, 2008, 06:18 PM Not surprising. After you are independent you'd have to pay import tariffs when selling in a foreign country, which is what the motherland is. I agree that it's kind of silly, but it's at least a little on the realistic side.
tour86rocker Sep 30, 2008, 08:09 AM Yeah, I don't really expect them to put any work into that. Actually, does anyone from Firaxis even read this forum? Hope I'm not wasting my time with bug reports.

Firaxis has always been a participant in CivFanatics and Apolyton, that's why the bug forums are created to begin with. I can pretty much guarantee they are reading this forum.
tour86rocker Sep 30, 2008, 08:45 AM ChrTh, thanks for the info, glad to hear it!

No, it isn't. You could choose to sell your goods in the port of another Euroepan country. Come on, it's a bug. Or rather, they didn't think of something as simple as removing the king and his works from the game after victory. it. This is clear from the fact that the king also keeps demanding taxes and adding to the Royal Expeditionary Force.
Edit: I forgot another real giveaway: the goods your king refused to trade with you because you nixed his taxes are still banned.
Dale Oct 06, 2008, 06:24 AM Bug noted, and will get fixed in the Snoopy/Dale patch.

Outstanding, thanks Dale! I'm enjoying the Patchmod
euskingc Oct 22, 2008, 04:42 PM you would think the official colonization site would have its own official bug forum... but i didnt even a see a support section there at all.
tour86rocker Oct 22, 2008, 05:32 PM Well, I'm surprised they bothered with a forum at all, since civfanatics and apolyton both run well-regulated and moderated forums at no cost to Firaxis :^)
