Whenever I start Civilization IV (and BTS) from steam, an error message that says Caught unhandled exception creating XML parser object Current XML file is: (blank) pops up. PLEASE HELP I've looked through this entire forum and couldn't find an answer that worked.

IT WORKED! NOW I HAVE ANOTHER PROBLEM! It says Failed Loading XML file Assets//XML\Gameinfo/CIV4PlayerOptionInfos.xml. Then, after I click ok, it says:
LoadXML call failed for GameInfo/CIV4PlayerOptionInfos.xml. Current XML file is:
