i have a LOT of time on my hands now a days. im in 3 of the NESs currently running, but i still get home and wait for the updates with nothing to do.

i am thinking maybe i should start my own NES. i want to play in it though.
i think to make suspision of my cheating less posible i will not use dice for the battles, instead i will have small armies that would fight using some known formula (either every army kills one oponent or something a bit more complex but still perdicatable) with large numbers of armies so that the outcome of the fight depends on who manuevered their armies better.

i wouldnt start it for a little while cause i have to set it up first, get my self organized, make a map (suggestions for which map to use would be appreciated), decide on the rules and so forth.

i want to know if there is enough interest in the player "community" to fill another NES though.

i figured i'd start working on it anyway, even if there aint gonna be interest, it could always come in handy.

i took UKs map of europe and 'cleaned' it. took of all thelines and so forth. i am horrible at geography, so if you all could tell me if the land/water layout is right i would appreciate it. if there are water bodies that should/should not be connected, please tell me, as that will make a difference for me.

UK, hope you dont mind me swiping your map.

i started tweaking the map, and ended up with something that doesnot resemble ANY part of the world. so i think when/if i start it it will be a fantasy type thing.

still not sure about the dice/math thing cause i am not sure I would trust my self. ;)

Roddy, I've been thinking for a while that to get some kind of complicatedness back into the NES(I know, the UKNESIV is complicated, but it's also huge, making it hard to mod, which is why I don't do much lol), we need smaller numbers.

That makes it easier on the mod, and due to their extra time from not moving for 10 players(I suggest 4 or 5 players, choose ones who always get orders in), the game can be more complicated.

What I see is maybe no longer an economical NES, but a war NES. You only get limited units, not really enough to hold your land, so you have to strike at the right places of the enemy.

Maybe you could have it that the USA, the UK, the European Union and the USSR all land invasion forces on the same island or something, and war erupts.

But I think a small, well-thought out NES could be a lot of fun.

UK, i think you might be right about less players is better. ill think about that.
the stuff i made so far is for 8 players, but i think i might redo that.
