Was wondering if anyone else would like to be given an initial prompt, as well as a button on the colony screen, that lets you choose if/when the 200 food is converted into a new colonist. It is really annoying when you try to auto-supply food to a food negative colony and it grows on you because you brought too much food and then runs out before more supplies arrive. Or, with the mechanics of rebel sentiment you do not always WANT more colonists when you are getting ready to submit your DoI. I guess this could be exploited (build up thousands of food and convert it all at once after DoI) so maybe it isn't that big a deal. Thoughts?

Theres a button in the top left corner that lets you stop growth.

Cool, but will food continue over the 200 (normal) threshold or will it dump excess food like the civ4 halt growth mechanic?

with extended warehouse it will sell anything above 300 (in normal speed)
since thats the limit for the warehouse.

You cant hoard food :)

Why not? Simply build some wagon trains and/or galleons (or any ships for that matter) and load them full of food. Then, after declaring independence, suddenly unload all of them. BAM, +1 free colonist for every full food wagon unloaded :D
