View Full Version : Fog of War, how do you get rid of it?

I am trying to create a map, and want to see where the coordinates are for the settlers that are plopped down, but the fog of war persists so that I cannot see the units and get the coordinates at the same time.

How do you turn off the Fog-of-War?

I know this question has been asked and answered a few dozen times, but the search feature on Civfanatics requires your searches be of words over 3 letters... sorry about that.

Any help is appreciated.

I have looked around the site, being creative in my search skills, and from what I have found, there is NO way to turn off the fog-of-war on a map. Amazing.

If I am wrong, please correct me.

You can't remove FOW as such, but it should be possible to give every civ permanent visibility on the complete map.

Try asking in the SDK forums.

This might be however more work than you want to do just for testing.

My work around was to put all the civs in question on one team, so their settlers would show up, then I could also shift-click on the map to find the x and y coordinates and go from there.

Thanks for the feedback Refar. It is surprisingly a lot of work for something that you'd think would be a simple game option.
