View Full Version : Escape From Zombie Island 3: Now in 3D - looking for playtesters
primordial stew Oct 07, 2008, 12:27 AM I'm porting "EFZI2: The Remake" to BtS. The tech tree is in, and most of the units are too. All the cities are placed, but terrain needs to be added. Python needs to be done, victory conditions added, and combat worked on.. So some stuff to take care of before playtesting can actually begin...
I'm posting this now because what I'm looking for is people who have played EFZI2 already (ie on CivIII Conquests). If you are interested, and own civII Conquests, but haven't played EFZI2 yet, now is the time! Or if you have played it, make sure you've tried all the factions.
Here is the thread:

I'd like to modify the zombie AI to be more "zombie like", but other than that, I am open to ideas for what BtS can bring to the game.
As a reward for playtesting you can have your name added to the list of zombie unit names ;) or other units if you like.
Ajidica Oct 07, 2008, 07:45 PM Looks cool, but seeing as I dont have civ3, I will be unable to test until it is for Civ4. You might want to contact Colin (working on the Necro Cristi mod in Modpacks forum and is working on a zombie mod) or seZereth who was interested in making a zombie tactical game, called Aftermath.
In the Aftermath forum Kael posted some code that might be helpful. I dont really know what the scale is here. Is it more like afterworld or more 'strategic'?
Side note: I have been working on some art for the Warhammer Fantasy Battles team and was wondering if you would like any art for RFRE. The art I am doing is heavily based on Spain/Gauls/Italy, ect. I'm sorry I havent tried your python fix for RFRE yet, I'll do it this week.
woodelf Oct 07, 2008, 07:47 PM A nice addition to Civ4. Like Ajidica said there is a lot to borrow from already.
primordial stew Oct 09, 2008, 12:03 AM Yeah, it's too bad Aftermath is on hold since this mod needs some of those units (eg zombie dog). seZereth might still create them someday ;)
I do have all the available zombie units, and some of the "monsters" too. Heck, I've even got Kim Jong Ill as Van Allen. Talk about evil
I did put in requests to get some of the missing units created. The Van Allen unit ("get to the plane!") is a missile equipped wheelchair. Certainly none of those around.
Happily there are suitable graphics available for the "nasty eggsack" and even "zombie goo".
Ajidica Oct 09, 2008, 04:22 PM Zomblie goo could be a reskinned oil. What I meant for refering to Aftermath and Necro Christi is for other ideas and other stuff. Also, for zombie dog, I think that there is one in Fury Road as a mutant animal. It is just a reskin of the wolf with mabye a few nif changes.
primordial stew Oct 10, 2008, 12:43 AM Yup, zombie goo is the in-game name for "Swampgas", which is just a re-skin of oil to turn it green!
The problem with that wolf is it's only on 2 legs :/ The spider was a great fit for the "nasty terror".
I actually started with Fury Road. The resources (eg silo), spider, and some of the punk units are probably all that will remain though.
Ajidica Oct 10, 2008, 02:50 PM For amother monster, the Devourerer by C.Roland and Refer would work and it can be reskined. I think that a new or modified model of the Berserker or Jaguar would work well. FfH also has alot of moster units.

yep, it s the werewolf i created for FfH.
It is rigged to the aztec jaguar skeleton for animation... which was not really a small nif change back then.
but try using a normal wolf, applying the texture of the werewolf (or fury road deathclaw... itīs the same). with applying i mean replace the wolf texture by the texture which comes with the deathclaw...
