View Full Version : This Game Sucks!!!!!
MKElderGod Oct 08, 2008, 10:39 AM Worst online game
EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Youve patched up the Mega City which needed no tweaking BUT STILL the game freezes. Im playing a game right now and im about to take the japenese over on a RANKED head to head game and what happens it freezes when I accepted peace. This game is the biggest rip off to hit shelves its ridiculous. The people who are associated with making, testing or just have anything to do with this game YOU ALL SUCK. Im disgusted by the fact I can play a 2 hour game and it just freezes. I have lost over 40 games already just to freezing. What a pathetic bunch of employees. You should all be fired and than they should let EA take it over. Just a bunch of sad lazy workers. Paid 60 dollars for WHAT?!
MKElderGod Oct 08, 2008, 10:43 AM This new patch with this whole new settler thing SUCKS! How does it make sense to use 2 settlers for a 3 city to go to 4. Couldve done it the common sense way.
1-10 = 1 settler
10-20= 2 settler
20-31-3 settler
This way you can at least still use the strategy But now there is no reason to even use a settler in another city.
Fire them ALL!
dot Oct 08, 2008, 11:52 AM Do you feel better now? :mischief:
azzaman333 Oct 08, 2008, 12:19 PM You do realise Civfanatics is just a fansite, right?
Although, I wouldn't mind being paid to sit here and post all day, especially at $10/post. I'd be set if that were an option.
MKElderGod Oct 14, 2008, 11:04 AM Another freeze when I was using he arabs had five cities about to mass catapults and what happens? FROZE!!!!!!!!!! thx for taking my 60 bucks <removed> con artists.
took advantage of the fans!
Watch the language, please.

The whole point im posting here is maybe they will listen to the fans because so far all they have done is fix a "problem" -cough- MC and havent solved any real issues.
Ignol Oct 15, 2008, 09:23 PM Complaining won't do anything really. I don't own the game, but they realize it has problems that they will be attempting to sort out. If you think you're the only person annoyed by it, then you're very wrong.

I am sure they will listen to the fans. Especially if those supposed fans damn the game to hell and insult all the employees of the company. Even more so if they don't offer any constructive criticism or mention ideas solely based on the fan's personal opinion of how things should be.
Way to go dude.
Wha1e Oct 17, 2008, 04:09 AM Has anybody else noticed that the patch seems to have brained the ai? My dog can build a capital city and crank out legions all game long. I do not think I have seen the computer found a second city since the patch came out.
lordmacroer Nov 05, 2008, 07:03 PM Fraxis gotta stop worrying about the darn graphics and actualy make a game that works.
Oh sure the game must work on their ulta-powerfull company computers that have like 10GB ram, monster video cards, and specifacations set expecialy for the software they created.
And of course its not their fault that their customers cant play the game; its the customer's fault for not having an extreamly expensive computer!
Well the pictures on the box look nice, so I can pretend the game is good and that I like it.
wannabewarlord Nov 06, 2008, 05:25 AM @lordmacroer
well, time moves on. You're not driving a Ford T-Model anymore either, are you?
(it also works, you know).

If complaining at all... it might be worth complaining in the right place. I have a hard time seeing that you are complaining about CivRev because it is impossible to run it on a computer, it is a console game.

Yea im not complaining about civ rev at all; I dont even own it. This was just a good place to make my rant on video games in general.
Annex Dec 21, 2008, 02:40 AM Over 40 games? For a game you hate so much, you sure do play it a lot.
Microplaya Jan 21, 2009, 12:47 PM Yes 2K needs to fix this game. Bunch of BS that it has been sold to the masses in this form.
Mchempstein Jan 23, 2009, 01:48 PM Anybody who thinks CivRev is an excellent game is in a deep state of denial. Fans of the Civ series should just be happy enough with hopefully being wise enough not to waste money on this game.
FlyinJohnnyL Jan 23, 2009, 09:46 PM To the OP-You obviously never tried to play Bully Scholarship edition...good game in theory but HO-LY CRAP it had so many bugs, and I think the patch actually made it worse.
Annex Jan 24, 2009, 06:28 PM Fall from Heaven > Any Civ game
gnunix Jan 27, 2009, 07:36 PM Ok. So is Rev that bad really? I've only played 3 games now. Never crashed once. I've played the first game on the tutorial level with the Egyptians. Second game was on the next highest level with the Myans. Third game was on King level (I think that is what it was called... or something like that) and I played the Egyptians again.
All worked fine. I'm playing on the Xbox 360 version. I am patched with all updates etc. I haven't even downloaded the game to the hard drive. I'll have to figure that out though as the faster load times would be nice... although I can't remember them being that bad at all.
lordmacroer Jan 27, 2009, 08:04 PM level with the Egyptians. Second game was on the next highest level with the Myans.
you can play as the Mayans? how can you do that?
gnunix Jan 28, 2009, 11:01 AM you can play as the Mayans? how can you do that?
Oops. :) I meant Aztecs.
gnunix Jan 31, 2009, 05:37 PM Ok. So I've played some more games now. Last night did a head to head game with a real life friend, no lockups.
I also played the game of the week today on King, no lockups.
I'm just posting this stuff here so that hopefully others are not dis-swayed from picking up this game. It seems to run very stable and is a blast.
Did you update the game via XBOX live? I'm at version 1.3, according to the home screen.
Microplaya Mar 29, 2009, 09:29 AM This game is not stable online Gnunix. It still freezes / locks up for unknown reasons, too often as far as I am concerned. 2K just doesn't seem to do online very well. NBA 2K9 is also a mess online, as far as lobby's are concerned, at least the play there doesn't freeze.
There are other serious flaws with it as well. There should be a "diplomacy" period per turn for starters. Meaning your are initially allowed to use your units first, before being interrupted by another Civ. You should be able to unload your boat. So annoying that you move your galley, then it scans over to the next unit, without giving you the option.
bonafide11 Mar 29, 2009, 09:53 AM Yeah, I like the game, but it does freeze A LOT online.
lordmacroer Mar 29, 2009, 12:03 PM I wish there was a "quick battles option" and a "quick moves option" like there was in the previous instalments of civilization. The battles are cool for the first couple of minuets, but then they just become a pain in the neck! I dont care how the fight goes, I just want to know the outcome.
TKG Apr 02, 2009, 02:24 AM there is just such an option, you simply turn off the animation, it's all under player preferences.
Kadazzle Apr 03, 2009, 01:46 PM No, there isn't.
aholen Apr 21, 2009, 10:38 AM Playing against the computer is boring since the AI is awful. However, the online multiplayer freezes on me in about 40% of games. I called 2k games and a guy there said the freeze problem wasn't reported that often. He asked me if I had a firewall and I said no. He said he didn't know how to fix the problem. Anybody want to buy my copy of the game?

Hey im a huge fan of all of the civ games. I just wish the new ones would work on my computer.
Sn1p3rk1ll3 Aug 11, 2009, 04:05 PM Mayans and Aztecs may seem like the same, but they aren't!!!!
Mayans are peacefull, but Aztecs are brutaaaaaaaaal :P
Back to the point :
-first of all : the game DOES have it's good points, like every game (it's always fun to establish a world domination :P )
-second : not all bugs can be removed from a game, and if you are so sure it can be : PROVE IT!!!
-third : I had a few freezes online (most every time online, but that's cheating by newbies who can't win /"pro's" who want to maintain their top 10-scores) but only like 2/10 games, and for an online game that takes 0.50-4 hours, that's not bad.
-finally : I'm pretty sure know you never played Sticky Balls.....aaaaaaaaaargh!!!!
Hertsh Aug 12, 2009, 07:18 AM Hey im a huge fan of all of the civ games. I just wish the new ones would work on my computer.
Letīs get back to talk about Civ Rev and nothing else, why keep on ranting about graphics and that the games doesnīt work on your computer? This is a console game! BTW, computers that can run Civ 4 are at a bargain price these days.
lordmacroer Aug 12, 2009, 08:10 AM BTW, computers that can run Civ 4 are at a bargain price these days.
hehe well that depends on what you consider "bargain price".
Wwere can i find a Civ Rev demo for windows 98? Ive looked all over the internet and different video game stores but they only have Civ rev for xbox and playstation or whatever they are called. I dont want to buy a fancy console just to play 1 game.

You canīt. As said earlier, this is a console game. It is present on X360, PS3, DS, and since a few days back actually also on iPhone/iPod Touch.
