Hopefully I have overlooked something, but...
Take the scenario of a Galleon with 900 units of guns.
It appears to be impossible to sell just a portion of this load to a native vilage/foreign power.
As traders rarely have enough money to give a fair price for large quantities, you end up having to use lots of almost empty caravels to trade with villages that have used up their initial money stash.
Micro-management nightmare.
