Ok, I'll keep this brief, if someone doesn't understand, then ask:

Some few months ago, I suggested to TF that the :o would be replaced with the  -smiley,
and :o -smiley would be eliminated. IIRC, Starlifter and few agreed with this one,
and TF said he'll change it. So, what's the...?

I prefer the old one. :o

I say we keep them. Sometimes you make a mistake :o and sometimes you blush about things.

Well, maybe we should just have one. But I like  better.

To me, both smilies denote slightly different expressions..... So I say we shld keep them both. Besides, the more the merrier. :)

To me, :O should still be :o.

If I'm "embarassed" I can type : blush :

The real problem is, :o.

What the dell is that? I always have wondered, what emotion it is
when you're mouth is round and you're red. ?

Embarassment- red for being embarassed, and a round mouth for, er, well embarassment. Kind of like saying "oh".

I think each smiley meant embarassment of a slightly different nature. But then of course, it's all up to individual intepretation. ;) Or somewhat lack of...

We should keep both. You don't blush every time you feel embarassed, do you?

This one is certainly not on top of my priority list. :o

How on earth the round mouth does stand for embarrassment?

Well... My new suggestion is that we place :o for :o, as usual, but replace :[i]blush: with :O,
for the smiley  .

Of course not, but guys like me who have way too much time on their hands,
afford to be perfeonisticals (sp?). :D

*said in a whispered game-show host voice*

The word is "perfectionist"

On topic, I don't think there is an issue here. Having both is fine, and TF shouldn't worry about this because he has more important things to do.

Edited for topicality

Just leave it the way it is :)

But this looks like a good place to request the :hm: smiley http://apolyton.net/forums/images/smilies/hm.gif

Edit 1: And also GC's [poke] smiley, svp.

In a similar manner to :o, when the heck would you ever use the http://www.civgaming.net/gamecatcher/images/smiles/poke.gif smily? It has comedy value, I agree, but there is no emotion whatsoever being expressed here.

I prefer the  over the :o .

Off-topic: I'm impressed that you can get smilies to appear in a poll! I didn't think that was possible.

Whenever it appears to be dying (no one playing), the 'poking to if see if dead' smiley will be perfect for it! :D

Sure there is! Use your imagination!

In a PM-

"So, how are you today? http://www.civgaming.net/gamecatcher/images/smiles/poke.gif "

:p

Well, maybe not. But I never thought sex smiley was useful either. Or this one, but I never use it- :egypt:

I liked the blush cheek smiley over the all red one, since the red one can indicate anger, and that's the way I usually inferred it myself. Like anything, with training, you can get used to is. For the real maining of it, the whole red icon might have been designed as a less than bright red, if it was going to be uni-color. As it is, I simply always avoid the red faced dude, since I know it can confuse people with the wrong intent. Not everyone, but some, esp. less frequent post readers.

I'm still surprised this hasn't been added to the smiley list.
