Since this game requires so much micromanagement regarding professions, I was wondering if it would be possible to add an in-game feature to keep track of what professions my cities need.

Right now I just created an excel spreadsheet and play in window mode so I can tell which cities need what professions. There is no way I can mentally keep track of what cities need what.

Would it be possible to somehow get a marking system that I pick in the city? Like a drop down box and as I bring units in I can delete the queue or have it auto-delete? I'm just looking for something more fluid than playing in window mode and dealing with excel.

edit: Also, is is possible to see how many civs I have being trained by the Indians? Sometimes I lose track of how many I have getting trained and it messes me up.

You could play fulscreen und use paper and pencil for notes rather than excel.
There is also a ingame system that will allow you to set markers on the map (Alt+s) - tho it only allow for short notes, but you could for example mark villages where you have colonists in training.
You can also rename your units (click at the yellow unit name) to mark what they are supposed to do.

But it's a good request for a interface mod. Would be indeed very helpful.
