I have a question regarding the build Queue that I can't find the answer to. Maybe I'm trying to search for the wrong terms. At any rate....

I know how to use the Build Queue

I know how to add something to the top of the queue, something to the bottom of the queue, and how to build something indefinitely.

Here's what I don't know what to do. It's a little complicated so hopefully I can explain it right.

Basically I want to take advantage of whip overflow. Let's say I want to build the Oracle, but haven't discovered Priesthood yet. Here's what I've learned (Props to Sitsuli and Eggman where I read it from:goodjob:)

I build the a barracks to within one turn of completion. I then add say a military unit to the top of the queue preventing the barracks from actually getting completed. I keep building units until I discover Priesthood.

So lets say my queue looks like this where the (#) is the turns to completion:

Chariot (4)
Barracks (1)

Ok, groovy - then I get Priesthood.

So now I'd like my Queue to get re-arranged to look like

Barracks (1)
Oracle (30)
Chariot (3)

This way when I whip Barracks, all the overflow hammers go to the Oracle.

I've tried ever sort of Shift-Click, or Ctrl-Click, or Alt-Click the items in the queue - but anytime I click them, they disappear:mad:. Not Cool.

I could just ditch the progress on the Chariot, but I loose the hammers invested.

is there no way to adjust the order in the Queue?

You keep the hammers even after you remove it from the build queue.

1. Remove Chariot from the top of the queue by clicking on it.
2. Add Oracle to the bottom of the queue by shift-clicking on it in the build items list.
3. Add Chariot to the bottom of the queue (below Oracle) by shift-clicking on it in the build items list.

As DaveMcW said hammers will not be lost, but be aware of hammer decay and your scientific progress. Say you have 100:hammers: invested in a Rifleman and take it out of the queue completely -- those hammers will be lost at the moment you discover Assembly Line (if you keep him somewhere in the queue it will auto-upgrade in the queue).
