I was wondering, are the goods sold in Europe off a Privateer taxed? You would think that since it bears no flag it wouldn't be subject to taxation by any king.

I'm at work now but will give this a test later!

Of course they are. And if you read the Pedia on Privateer (or just google it up) you are going to know why.
You do know it's your ships. And so does your King.
Technically, before the DoI, HE deployed them. So if there is something odd at all, it's why your King does not get more of the booty.

Yeah I see that now, I was at work when I originally posted. Too bad I can't install it on my computer there!

Any self-respecting pirat--er, privateer knows how to hide booty.

but if they sell theirs goods on the market, the taxs get deducted anyway

if they sells them on the black marquet (in the game, others europeans or indiens), then there's no tax to pay

Bit if they sell in the black market they will be pirates And Smugglers :)

Piracy its stealing but stealing another nation it was hardly considered a crime. In the old accounting books they will be noted as another commercial transaction.
