The starbase's territority doesn't expand. That's how the mod was designed. What do you mean by making the mod crash?

i have some pictures here, i mean the starbase should give me 3by3 blocks territory, so i can expand to the resources, otherwise the resources are not
attainable. but my startbase :cry::cry:

I'm going out on a limb here but I thought I remember something about them having to be connected to mag tubes or what ever they called the roads. Check the in game civlopedia, it should be helpful regarding the matter.

1. Those bases are obviously placed in Worldbuilder. Final Frontier does not play well with worldbuilder, which may be the cause of the problem. I would recommend playing without cheating.

2. You do not need (and should not have) that many starbases in such a small area.

3. The starbase gives culture in a radius of 2 squares from the base, for a 5x5 square with the base at the center.

deanej I think that's it. I did some experimenting this afternoon to see if the starbases needed to be connected to mag tubes. When I build the starbases in worldbuilder, I need to go to the next turn before the culture would appear; after that it worked fine for me.

Unless we can see the save posted, I am willing to add to the call of: "Cheater! Cheater!"

thank you i tried too, it works fine but the mod is far from perfect. temporaly the
culture squares will disappear and come back in the following one or two turns.

hehehehe i just use wb to get some pics , my starbase will temporally lose its culture squares and give it back after several turns.....

Starbase culture is handled like an event/script, so if the base isn't actually built in-game, it won't get its cultural radius until a new turn processes the borders. Starbase borders aren't "real" culture -- they don't generate any ownership value for the territory, unlike cities.

A similar issue applies when your civ adopts a vassal or permanent alliance. All starbase culture borders go away for a turn.

I'll second the worldbuilder advice. Star systems are handled with python (and so maybe are starbases). Worldbuilder doesn't let you edit that.

when i try to play final frontier it doesn't work at all. the AI just sits there, doesn't grow and doesn't build.

I never liked that mod, too boring, too small, too exploitable.

I do think, however, that WB is NOT a good idea. :P
