View Full Version : Gamefonts Problem

No matter how I edit the Gamefont files (both the regular and _75), I get absolutely no results. Nothing ever changes, my additions don't appear nor do I even get some sort of screwy error (which would help because then I would know something was actually being affected). Just nothing, like its completely ignoring the Gamefont files in the Mod folder and skipping to the default ones. Most of the resources I am trying to add are from the ResMod, so I used those Gamefont files (which aren't even for Beyond the Sword, there are no corporation images) and still nothing changes.

I've followed every tutorial down to the last letter, the XML files are set up properly yet any changes I make still don't appear. I tried to use the ResMod files to see if they would change something but no such luck.

The only thing I'm wary of is the <FontButtonIndex> </FontButtonIndex> tag in the Art_DefinesBonus, because it directs to the specific image on the TGA, yet the order the resources are listed in is supposed to determine that.

All in all its a disaster that has consumed a great deal of time with absolutely no results despite scouring the forums for every mention of the Gamefonts file.

Any ideas or help?

What's the full path for the files you are modifying?

The Gamefont files are in [Mod Folder] > res > Fonts

Then you have Gamefont and Gamefont_75.

Try putting them in [Mod Folder] > Assets > res > Fonts

Try putting them in [Mod Folder] > Assets > res > FontsThat seems to have done the trick! One question: why does the default game have the res folder outside of the Assets folder?

Thanks for the quick help. :)

All three versions of the game I have show the res folder inside Assets; you might be confusing it with the similarly-named Resource folder (where themes are defined) which is indeed outside of Assets.

I don't know what I was confusing it with, but you're right.

Silly me. :crazyeye: Thanks again. :king:
