So... Playing as the Scions, I automated some workers, and every single one got stuck in the hills around my capital. First they build a mine, then a cottage, then tear down the cottage and rebuild the mine, and repeat.... Any way to make different automation choices? Maybe choose food, production, or commerce, and automate each to just the closest city..

you should definitely check "automated workers leave old improvements" , that's invaluable. ;)

Agreed, but then you have to manually update your improvements... adds in a lot of micromanagement.

I know :( automated workers could definitely use some tweaks to make them wiser. not wise, just acceptable :D

Set the City Governor emphasis buttons and it should control the workers nearby as well. So if the city emphasized Production, not only would the governor assign citizens to get the most possibly hammers (while still growing slowly), but workers who are automated will prefer to build mines when possible.

Ah, I was under the impression that the governor only controls the citizens, not the worker build lists... That's rather useful.
