Okay, so I'm playing AoD II, on Governor difficulty. This would have been my third consecutive win, so I was about to advance to Patriot. I had a nice little colony going, with 5 cities, and since I was France and I took a 'strengthens relations' FF the natives (Apache) were Pleased.

Next turn. "You have been defeated"

Wait, what? What the hell just happened? Well... the Apache decided to turn on me. They took all five colonies, with a Cannon guarding each one, in the same turn...

I learned to leave some colonist on automate and to leave enough guns in the settlement. Then they can work and also respond like minute man militia.

Perhaps it was for the best..?
