In the footsteps of the Phoenatica Weekly Standard and the Daiy Tribune, would anyone be interested in working on a new newspaper?

i would prefer seeing this thread in the citizen forum, as it will interest also the non-rpg citizens (yes, i hate the division of citizen and rpg forum)

I was digging through some threads, when I found this, the forerunner of all newspapers. Some of the older citizens may remember this. The newspaper? The Democratic Daily. I thought everybody might like to see this...

Are there any ideas for new newspaper? Like names? Format? Things we could report on?

I think that the reason papers have failed in the past (including my own sortof) is that they all had just one contributor. I think there are two ways we could run it, and have a number of editors.

Create a publication with a hieachy.
This means we have an editor and a team of reporters. The reporters run around an write news/humour/HI stories, conduct interviews and draw comics (depending on what you like) and then the editor takes them all and puts them in a paper to be released as a .pdf or something. The benefit is a much more cohesive paper, the problem is the editor gets stressed, the journos are slack and the paper doesn't come out much if at all.

The other option is to open a 'Newspaper' thread, that only registered reporters can post in.
That way the news could be up to the minute and the longer stories could come in whenever. This means people can easily peruse it whenever. The MAJOR advantage is that it does not have to rely on one person all the time. The disadvantage is that is doesn't look as flashy and it is more like TV or radio then a paper.

The Voice of the People
The Courier News

Or for a TV/radio feel:
The Fanatican News Channel
Fanatikan Broadcasting Company
Channel F
Channel 2 (for the 2nd demogame)

I've come up with a different name for your newspaper.

We'll call it "The Cavewall". Isn't that where we'll be telling our stories?

It's better than "The Oral Tradition"....
