The last time I have checked, Germany starts of with the Warrior code and Bronze Working. If fact we do have Bows n' arrows and Bronze spears :).

Haven't played Germany in a while. I though they started with warrior code and alphabet (militaristic and scientific)? I could be wrong.:confused:

Those are just sharpened sticks. We have been trying without success to mount one of our stone axeheads on a long stick though. They are just too heavy, maybe if we make them like a large arrowhead it will work. Maybe we are closer than we think...

I just got some new iron weapons and armor in, so you might want to get something a little newer. Of course, I like the 'look' of the bronze armor better.

Well, we are having trouble producing longbows that actually provide enough resistance to function properly. My aids tell me they don't have the right kind of wood. I have heard the English territory is filled with Yew trees, that provide the wood we need. Maybe if we open trade with them, I can make you a longbow.

A long sword isn't the usual style, but I am sure we can fashion one.

The chain device you wanted is already done, and I will bring the sword by in a few hours if you like.

Ah, good. No need to bring the sword by, I'm in your area now. Just thought I would drop by and give you a quick sketch of the cradle I wanted. It might help. The chains look good, nice and strong. I hope we start trading with the English soon. Maybe I will scout that area, see what I can find.

Anyway, here's that sketch I did. Come to think of it, you might want to put a cross-brace on each end, about a third of the way up. Just to make it more stable.

So, here's 40 gold for the chains. I'll be back to pick up the sword later.

Well, the shield and armor are easy. I will just use the designs from the bronze versions.

As far as the helmet goes, I can easily make a plumed iron helmet, but gems are so unbelievably rare right now...

The sword can be done. It will take some time, and a lot of effort.

Well, you could simply hire some archers. I have been working on a sort of rolling rock thrower, but more than often it breaks rather than throwing the boulder. Give me a few weeks and I should have perfected it.

Remember those boar spears you made for me earlier? They work quite well form horseback except for a weight problem that forces the balance too far forward. I'd like 2 of these long spears but with shorter heads and no cross poinyard at all. I need the head weight about 1/3 of the boar spears.

I also need an iron sword long enough to swing from horseback. That custom job you made for Cyc a while back should suit nicely.

I'll need two shields. One normal and one made oblong, the size of two shields held together for horseback use.

Add in a full set of iron armor and a set of leather as well.

I will need a second sword, and this will be a very special piece. It will be the mark of authority for the Earldom of Seabrake. I'd like this to be that longer sword style as well. It absolutely must be a masterpiece work with exceptional attention to the blade. Please commission the finest smith in Morgana. Have it folded at least 3 times more than a standard blade, more if possible, and make two blood runnels. The decorative theme will be bear. The pommel will look like two rearing bears, back to back, standing on a capstone crystal, their spreading arms will be the crossguards and the blade will appear to rise from between them. Their eyes will be gemstones of a carat each; rubies for one bear and saphires for the other (war/peace). I'm hoping you can get the gems from the new jem shop. If not, I can have them added afterwards.

If you are strong, a breastplate will allow you to move quickly and generally keeps one from being impaled... It leaves the legs mostly free.;)

Well, if you wear leather, and cover your chest with a chainmail shirt, that should server your purpose.

That's acceptable. Better make those new spears masterworks as well. It's an untried design and it's likely I don't have the proportions quite right yet. I'll need all of the strength and flexibility possible to make up for the expected design flaws.

Sorry about that. It is completed. It took awhile, because it took some time for me to make sure it was perfect. Here is your sword...we agreed on 500 gold I think. I am sure that once our gemcutter has done his work, it will be beautiful as well as deadly.

They call them 'bodkin' arrows, I think, though I may be wrong. They are quite capable of punching right through most armor. Luckily, even in England, these are not common enough to be used by the military, and neither are the bows. That is the reason for the price.;)

The are approximately the length of your forearm and weighted about a third down the shaft. They use a piercing point like a javelin and it is about the length of your hand. The last half of the shaft is feathered for flight accuracy. The flights are considerably larger than an arrow's.

Hehe. I have managed to craft one more of these longbows from the remaining prototype, and I will part with it for 250 gold. I cannot guarantee it's quality however, as it is my first attempt at such a weapon.

I have often contemplated making such a weapon. I will use the secrets of the forge we have learned more completely recently from the Japanese swordmakers. Thus, this dagger's blade will likely be a bit stronger than that of it's larger counterpart. I was thinking I might make the blade slightly curved, and a bit longer than your average dagger. The total price will come to around 300 gold, I believe, as it will be a masterwork weapon and also a work of art. What do you think?

I would be happy to make these weapons for the most honorable judge. I just hope you don't have any notions of going off to war...we need you in the capital, so don't get yourself killed.;)
