I also voted yes BUT only because it is a good song. I have no idea what the song is about and when you come to think about it if you take out the word "Blitzkrieg" there is nothing to suggest that the song has anything to do whit Germany or the germans......but what the hell :)

I voted to abstain because....it is a catchy song...but...it's just not appropriate for anthem...though I was debating how much it's the only thing I can think of AS the anthem now because of reading this...grrrr..now I've run out of ideas....

A national anthem should be stirring and uplifting, a reflection of the values and greatness of a civilisation. This is boppy and stupid. It would encourage disrespect from our allies and cause us shame.

Maybe we should wait to vote on a national anthem. That way, ours could have something more to do with the terrian surround the capital. If we see mountains, we can sing about them, etc.

I'd suggest some RATM, but have one of thier songs as a NATIONAL ANTHEM would be a horrible contradiction.

I agree Dixie would be more appropriate than this, but Dixie is already considered to represent another nation, so it wouldn't work.
And I don't want start debate about this here, if you want to argue w/ me, do it w/ PM's, but there is MUCH stronger feeling behind Dixie than the Star Spangled Banner or almost any other anthem I can think of. I know people who begin to tear up when they hear the song, and if you don't know the song, it's a up-beat march.

The problem whit making up a national anthem is that we can never record and hear it. Its not that fun just to have a lyric is it??
