Here's where you can buy all your eating needs!! no lowsy stuff to get in your way, just your basic, simple, life nurushing substenance (sp?) ! some stuff we don't have, some we do, just ask!
PS a percentage of the money goes back to the farmers and good people that produce these fine products:

Since I needed to divide the gold piece, I made this (hope it's ok with you all fine patrons):

1 gp = 4 silver pieces (sp)
1sp = 25 copper pieces (cp)
1 cp = the lowest denominational coin (not unlike the U.S. penny)

(*) prices based on kilos
(‘) prices based on gallons

*Fruits:
Fruits are 3 times more expensive in cities that don’t produce them beacuse it needs to be exported to those cities. The price of fruit goes down by ½ after the discovery of the railroad and it’s the same price on all cities there after. It goes down by another half after the discovery of electricity.

oranges (cities that are tropical – in or next to jungles) 5 gp
apples (plains) 3 gp
bananas (tropical) 6 gp
mangoes (tropical) 6gp
kiwis (tropical) 10 gp
lemons (tropical) 6 gp
strawberries (all types of berries) (plains) 2 gp
cantleloupes (tropical) 2 gp
pineapples (tropical – island) 10 gp
watermelons (tropical) 20gp
grapes (plains – special tile) 5 gp

*Meats:
Meat costs 6 times more in cities whithout the cow tile. Prices go down by ½ after the discovery of electricity and the railroad and it’s the same price in all cities.

Only cities with the cow in their radius can produce meat.
beef 8 gp
pork 3 gp
lamb 4 gp
rabbit 2 sp
deer 10 gp

*Vegetables:
All cities with irrigation produce vegetables.

tomatoes 2 gp
carrots 2 gp
lettuce 1 gp
cucumbers 2 sp
beets 1 gp
brocoli 3 gp
potatoes 20 cp
asparragus 10 gp
onions 2 sp

Dairy
The price goes down by ½ after the discovery of electricity. It goes down again by another ½ after mass production.
Only cities with the cow in their radius can produce dairy and dairy byproducts.

‘Milk 5 gp
*cheese 8 gp
*yogourt 5 gp
*butter 8 gp
‘cream 20 gp

*Cereals, grains and seeds.
Only cities with irrigated plains can produce this.
Rice 2 gp
maize (i’m mexican, so corn is maize, so there!) 3 gp
wheat 2 gp
malt 1 gp
poppy seeds 8 gp
sunflower seeds 8 gp
barley 1 gp

*Sea produce
The price of sea food and caviar goes up 4 times after the discovery of enviromentalism.

Fish – only cities with fish in their tile radius. 5 gp
sea food (not including fish) only shrimp, mollusks, etc– every city with a harbor 7 gp
Caviar – cities next to a coast and a river (it comes from salmon right? they put their eggs in rivers, so I just figured this, am I right or wrong?) 50 gp

Other
Depends on the climate and special tiles within the city

maguey plants (hills) – to make tequila! 10 gp per gallon of tequila
*spices –we need them to cook. 80 gp (prices go down by ½ after free artistry. Down again by ½ after railroad)
‘wines – we need grapes to produce them. 20 gp
‘beer – doesn’t come from grapes, it comes from malt 5gp
weed – Asphinxia allowed mind altering drugs, why not Bavaria? 2 gp
*sugar – needs a warm, humid climate, so only those cities with jungles and/or next to the coast can produce sugar canes. 20 gp. Price goes down by ½ after railroad, down again by another ½ after electricity.

Manufactured products like cookies, sodas and the sort can be produced by every city. Just as long as they have a factory and are connected to the capital.

That's about it!!

10 carrots?? hmmmm...they're usually sold by kilos not individually..(makes it easier for me to keep track of things)..now, do keep in mind that the prices have gone up with the new rules (multiply them by 10) would you rather prefer 1 kilo?

Hmmmmm... everybody watch!! Ehecatl is about to make a dum bussiness move!!!---

I concur with Civanator, if you just want one or two carrots, go to his shop. The grocey store is to make your monthly shopping done. You know, like a grocery list.

End of dum move -- Why did I do that you say? laiziness! I just didn't want to divide kilos and then make out how much one carrot is worth....

Oh, btw, a kilo is a unit of measurement, not unlike your pounds. I think I use the international metric system while you use the english or vice versa
