View Full Version : A Leaderhead Personality Idea...
The Capo Jan 13, 2009, 11:35 PM This is a crazy idea I was thinking of, and I am sure others have thought of it as well, and have probably already posted on it. But I'm drunk, so I don't care to look too much right now.
Is there a way to code a HATRED for a specific leader or civilization? And by that I mean into a specific leader. For instance Boudica could hate the Romans, or Sitting Bull could HATE the Americans.
Just an idea. If anyone wants to expound upon this that'd be appreciated. Otherwise I'm sorry I posted this, and if nothing happens I wouldn't mind if the thread were deleted.
I think this would be helpful for scenarios in particular, where you want all diplomatic options open, however want the AI to behave in a particular fashion.
Thoughts.....?
Refar Jan 14, 2009, 05:32 AM Funny idea.
I think for scenarios you can just give some Civs a initial Diplo penalty in WB.
The_J Jan 14, 2009, 04:18 PM When i see it right, in the Mod The History Of Three Kingdoms (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=304872) they've added more diplomatic options, including a new .xml-file, where you can add the default-values for the relations.
Fierabras Jan 14, 2009, 04:39 PM I have done something similar with Python in my Barbarian Alliance mod, where you are friends with the barbarians, but are hated by all the other civs (-8 diplo).
MadmanOfALeader Jan 14, 2009, 05:31 PM The ideas are limitless.
Roosevelt could hate the Japanese.
De Gaulle could hate the Germans.
Hitler could hate the Israelis. And could Ahmadinejad.
Could Washington hate the English?
RulerOfDaPeople Jan 15, 2009, 03:27 AM Make love not hate. :p
Kumbaya

Kumbaya
I'm not very keen on the idea of Roosevelt on Tokugawa action...
However, if you're talking Catherine and Boudica... :mischief:
The Capo Jan 15, 2009, 08:11 PM Damn, I must be the only one who thinks Boudica is a dog. I'd rather see Catherine and Izzy go at it.
RulerOfDaPeople Jan 16, 2009, 12:40 AM I prefer Isabella and... BOUDICA!
...or is that Boudicall? :scared:
MadmanOfALeader Jan 16, 2009, 07:28 AM Izzy would rather burn Cathy on the stake on go at her!
RulerOfDaPeople Jan 16, 2009, 06:22 PM You know, going back the point of the thread, I think that would be a great idea if it could be done for a scenerio or a mod. I've often thought about that myself when playing Civ 4 games and seeing such a leader.
MadmanOfALeader Jan 16, 2009, 07:40 PM Chavez could hate the Americans! And so could Castro!
Would some leaders not have this trait. I couldn't picture Gandhi or Selassie really hating anybody.
Tholish Jan 17, 2009, 01:51 AM Maybe it would add some tag in LeaderheadInfos like this for a Joan of Arc Leaderhead:
<FavoriteCivic>CIVIC_VASSALAGE</FavoriteCivic>
<FavoriteReligion>RELIGION_CHRISTIANITY</FavoriteReligion>
<FavoriteCiv>CIVILIZATION_ROME</FavoriteCiv>
<HatedCivic>CIVIC_REPRESENTATION</HatedCivic>
<HatedReligion>RELIGION_ISLAM</HatedReligion>
<HatedCiv>CIVILIZATION_ENGLAND</HatedCiv>
MadmanOfALeader Jan 17, 2009, 07:20 AM I think a better name would be "Shunned" instead of "hated", like in Civ III.
mechaerik Jan 17, 2009, 09:18 PM <FavoriteCiv>CIVILIZATION_ROME</FavoriteCiv>
Why Rome?
But thats a good idea, ive thought of it before, but i dont know python or c++.
