I almost hate to bring this up, seeing as myself and others have been pouring work into another mod for the past year, which is close to being ready for release, and I would love to see any modders who are looking for new stuff to do help us finish up and improve our (present day) mod.
But, I got thinking about another idea, and I wanted to share it and see if other people are into it. For children of the 50s to the 80s, you have to have liked G.I. Joe. I think a mod with only custom G.I. Joe leaders and units would be fun as hell.
There is no way I personally am ever going to have time to work on something like this in any way, the other mod takes all of my modding time and probably will as long as civ exists. (the pesky world refuses to stop changing) But if another team ever takes this up, it could be an instant classic if done well. The main thing it would require obviously is custom art.
One or two XML modders could probably do the rest. (But we could still use some additional art for the World 2009 (http://forums.civfanatics.com/forumdisplay.php?f=294), so let me suggest to artists; why not work on some cool modern units/buildings/leaderheads, and THEN start on the Joes? ;) lol)
I got the idea from Ekmek's (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=277514) ridiculously cool Cobra Commander leadhead. I'm sure others have thought of this idea before, but it is hard to find related threads since no variations of G.I. Joe works in the search. So I apologize in advance if this is something that gets brought up every three weeks and shot down for whatever reasons, or if it is in development somewhere. I have never seen a thread about it.
In case you were wondering, yes, I am an adult. Just very immature. A man child, some may say.
I hope others are interested in this idea and that you will share ideas in this thread. Maybe eventually someone will take it up.
