Just downloaded a bunch of the New Civs.

I've spent like 5 hours reading the forums and trying to install them in Civ IV warlords. Nothing has worked for them to show up in the game.

I would like to be able to load up a new game, and load in new leaders. I kind of got bored with the old ones.

My goal is to start up at 4000 BC, and start playing.

I downloaded Nazi Germany, Denmark, Israel,
United Arab Emirates, France, China, Austria Hungary, and Huns.

I also downloaded Europa Mod 1.9, which crashes and never evens loads up in to the game.

My question is simple: Being I am new to messing with these files I have no idea how to install them. In the simplest terms can someone explain where the files need to be placed (in the location on the PC), what files need to be re-written, where to find those files in the game (the location of them on the PC). On the NAZI germany one, the guy says rewrite the BTS file, no idea where this is or what this is. Please write how to install new world leaders in several steps, to get them to work, when creating a custom game. I have read thru the forums and different users use different methods to install. A step by step, idiots guide is what I need to know in order to figure this out.

files you'll have to edit:

Civ4CivilizationInfos.xml
Civ4ArtDefines_Leaderhead.xml
Civ4LeaderHeadInfos.xml

Here's a good guide (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=278907).

BTS is even better, but no, you don't need it. You can install leaderheads in warlords too, but I don't know the differences. Search around the tutorials forum, all the info you need is there for sure. :-)

Open them with a text editor to make changes. Make sure you keep all the tags perfectly in place (including case). I use ultraedit, notepad ++ is the free alternative.
