The Granatwerfer

Taking for base model Christ2000's Mortar I am creating the Granatwerfer (named suggested by my fellow team mate Polaris :goodjob: )
Here is a Default/Fidget Preview.
What do you all think? :)

Looks good nonnob, but I think he needs a greatcoat ;) Yeah, whatever, I'm just kiddin'. The liebstandarte-SS is cool too, BTW.

looks good! god love Christ2000 for making the original of that fantastic unit. i was going to make a Vietnamese Mortar awhile back, and now I might have to with dannyevilcat's scenario.

Is this a graphical "mix" in the previev-gif, or am I right that you are trying to make the white stockings look like boots?


Huha! i have to update my MOD's unit list every hour I think :D

would I be right in thinking that the only change is the helmet?

maybe...
But i suggesat.. Overpaint the white stockings in back and darh grey... Black boots would fit perfectly!

It would be great if someone could make a Russian helmet to replace respective units' headgear- still got the 'WWII Soldier flying around somewhere' which is basically the Imperial Marine (might change though) with the Marine's helmet.

Hi guys,
I am replacing some colors,....from light brown on outfit to grey...this is a test gif... I think I will make it a liitle more darker.....still working on the boots.
I might though just change the helmet and leave the rest the same (I did the same with the Grenadier ;) )
Still have to decide...my mind is back and forward between Panzerschreck and Granatwerfer :crazyeye:

I think I should just change the head so it's similar to the Grenadier.
(Have you all noticed the head movements...took that idea from the Leibstandarte SS ;) )

Yes, I haved decided just to change the head ;) ...
(It would also save me time...to spend more on the Panzerschreck which will be a more difficult unit: just think about it, I am making 2 units in one :jump: )
My Grenadier was based on infantry and only the head was changed, still looked GREAT!!!! Also the Reiter was done the same way exept the death animation.
A simple change can do the trick....just like pi8ch's French legion :D

I think you should remove the backpack, and give him black boots

Grenadiers had backpacks...........I will most likely just add the boots ;)

Just one comment, the run animation (when you get to it) should have the mortar strapped next to the backpack.

If you will entertain one suggestion, I think that the Granatwerfer might be an excellent candidate for the addition of a "helper", much like your Panzerschrek. Even if No.2 did nothing but stand or neal next to the tube, I think it would add a lot, especially since all mortars, (with the exception of a few one man jobs) are crew served weapons. I don't think anybody would care if No. 2 didn't appear in the Run.flc, just as long as he is squatting next the weapon in the firing sequence. After all, we can use our imaginations to assume that he has just handed No. 1 the round to be dropped down the tube. If you did want to go all out an include No.2 in the Run.flc, you could put the tube on No.1's back as PsychoModder has suggested and the base plate on the back of No.2. That would be tres sweet. :D

Come to think about, it kind a makes sense since I am doing the same with the Panzerschreck!
Hmmmmmmm..... sounds like it's gona take a little longer but I vision now 2 (ehm, German Motorcycle) 3 AWSOME units in the future for the THIRD REICH

I love the new Grenadier, and the Granatwerfer looks perfect!

BTW: Actually I repaintes the pants too for my Legion Etranger :D

That is a great idea, we could even use that to replace the artillery for the germans if we wanted to, another great job my friend!

I realize that you currently have a great deal on your plate, so file this suggestion in a corner of your mind for use at a latter date.

It seems to me that once you have finished your Granatwerfer unit, it would be possible, with a small amount of rework, to have the two crewmen operating a MG34/MG42 on a tripod mount rather than the mortar. What do you think?
