View Full Version : ct4 - Game of Republic: Prelude to PTW - Succession Game Variant
Aug 28, 2002, 09:04 PM
This will be my first variant game I've tried. :) If you've seen the Civ2/Civ3 Demogames (Game of Democracy), that what this will be like (but extremely simplified. ;)).
The ground rules:
Each player will have their own "province" to start with. These provinces (including the Palace Province) will have 5 Forbidden Palaces. (that's 6 total players).
Each player will control 1 'province' as though it were their own civ. Each player will post a build queue. (demogame concept) and the current player will add those queues to the provinces (including their own). Play will resume like a normal succession game. The cycle continues for the next player.
Remember, The 6 areas are one civ (semi-independant), so if one declares war, it's still war for everyone. In PTW, each province can be independant of each other.
We should also decide which level we should play on, as we will be at a distinct advantage. I'm thinking emperor or deity (monarchy at the lowest).

EDIT: Deity would be fun!
EDIT2: We need to discuss what Difficulty to play. Everyone post their vote ONCE, and we'll see which gets the most. I have already voted as you can see above...

Chieftess, put me in as a possible backup like BCLG. :)
I don't expect any of your regulars to drop, but I will be following the game with interest.

I may have to drop at some time, but I don't expect to.

Ok, let's vote on which difficulty. <demogame humor> "This is a council vote. Should we play on deity, since 6 'centers' will give us an edge? Vote yes/no/abstain</end demogame humor>
Ok, I think we should play on deity, or even super-deity.
Aug 30, 2002, 02:05 PM

So, is this on the hold or what?
Sep 03, 2002, 03:29 PM
Who knows... how'd the mod testing go? Does the AI use the extra FPs at all effectively?
Sep 05, 2002, 02:26 PM
so ditto to what GF said
Sep 08, 2002, 10:41 PM
As some probably know from the demogame.. my Civ3 monitor is shot. So, that means I can't play civ3, or even test the mod. :( BTW, I was going to make the palaces as wonders, so only we can use them.
Sep 09, 2002, 10:03 PM
Can you do that?
I think the best way this could work out is if we created a few more forbidden palaces for each province as small wonders, pre-place the province capital cities at an acceptable distance with pre-build FP's , and do the same for each of the AI's.

Oct 08, 2002, 08:02 PM
