View Full Version : Term 1 Election - Trade Leader Shaitan Aug 29, 2002, 05:36 AM This poll will run through the end of the month. BCLG100 Aug 29, 2002, 05:39 AM vote me ill work really really hard at trade and make sure that fanatika thrives BCLG100 Aug 29, 2002, 03:51 PM how come so many people can vote yet only i have posted? Chieftess Aug 29, 2002, 04:42 PM Because we know you'll win? ;) BCLG100 Aug 29, 2002, 05:11 PM oh yeah well of course ;) no i well some other people could post and stuff Toasty Aug 29, 2002, 06:52 PM Darn, I was really hoping to win this one. I think that most of the citizens have already voted, but I suppose it's not too late to drop my two cents in. Prudent trade is beyond vital for the early game. Especially on these higher difficulties, when computers gain techs in the blink of an eye--if the trade leader is not completely on top of his duties, active, and working for the extreme importance of the trade department. I've worked at the UPSV, UFSV, as mayor of Memphis (which, but the end of my mayorship, was the largest city in Phoenatica), and as the Governor of Kashmir. I consider my accomplishments, in my short two months here, to be numerous, if not wholly good *cough* Delphi *cough*. But I have had my jam-packed experience here. And I would hope to be able to apply it to the position of Trade Leader. Trade Leader is extremely important at this point and all I can ask you to do is vote for whom you are sure will do the best job. I will never hold it against someone if they think my opponent is right for the job. Thanks for your time. WarriorZeus Aug 30, 2002, 04:27 AM hmmm looks like a hot contest, toasty just trialing with little time left........... (note: i voted for the non commie bastard) but you did give some good points.... BCLG100 Aug 30, 2002, 12:15 PM and out of curiosity who cdlg1001? Kennelly Aug 30, 2002, 01:33 PM I voted for you Toasty,my fellow NESer ipris Aug 30, 2002, 04:04 PM voted Toasty, cause i voted BCLG100 elsewhere. BCLG100 Aug 30, 2002, 04:46 PM oh thanks please dont say you voted for me in culture im fighting a losing battle there Toasty Aug 30, 2002, 08:47 PM The gap is getting smaller... This could turn out to be a squeaker. Octavian X Aug 30, 2002, 09:34 PM Just so Fanatika knows, I support Toasty in this race, the deputy I appointed that was never approved... Toasty Aug 30, 2002, 10:26 PM Kept it in my sig anyways...:D Furry Spatula Aug 30, 2002, 10:35 PM I voted for toasty because i voted for BCGL elsewhere. So how does it work if someone is elected for 2 different positions? is it allowed? Octavian X Aug 30, 2002, 11:48 PM Normally, incumbents in elections may only run for one position. but since no one has held office before, everyone may run for two positions. In the event someone wins two offices, that person must chose one, and give the other one to the runner up. Chieftess Aug 31, 2002, 05:45 AM But, if they're elected to 2 leader posistions, they have to accept one and decline the other. Say Toasty tried again next term, and won Trade and Science. He'll have to choose one, say Trade. Now, if Strider and Civanator were the runner-ups in Science (and were tied, say 10-10), there needs to be a run-off. BCLG100 Aug 31, 2002, 09:09 AM but he wouldnt be able to as you can only run for 1 positions Shaitan Aug 31, 2002, 12:25 PM Only current officials are restricted to a single campaign. Citizens that are not currently in elected office may always run for 2 positions. Chieftess Aug 31, 2002, 12:26 PM That's after 1 term of being in office. This is a new game, so all prior posistions are reset. Shaitan Aug 31, 2002, 12:28 PM Yup. Toasty Aug 31, 2002, 02:18 PM Come on, only 3 votes for me to catch up! This is excrutiating ;). Toasty Aug 31, 2002, 05:24 PM . I need 2 votes before midnight tonight and I'll have tied. I can only wonder if BCLG is as antsy as I am ;). Toasty Aug 31, 2002, 05:25 PM Oh, wait, it's closed? Phooey. Should've clarified on the timezone, or I should have payed more attention. Congrats, BCLG. Chieftess Aug 31, 2002, 05:35 PM Close race! Toasty nearly caught up! Congrats to the winners! Sorry Abstain, better luck next time. ;) Toasty Aug 31, 2002, 05:43 PM I want an extension to the voting deadline! If it had continued, I mighta won :p. RECOUNT! RECOUNT! RECOUNT! :D.
