Recently, I started a game with the Incans on Emperor level. I got a pretty good start and built five early wonders. Since all my previus emperor games had resulted in either space-race or domination victories, I decided to give a shot at a cultural victory.
Can anybody give me good advice on how to win a cultural victory?

Some advice? Get some culture in 3 cities...

I know, it's no really specific... but neither is your description of your situation, so I can't give you specific advice anyway.

On a slightly more serious note; have a look at following guides:

Or just have a look yourself in the war academy or with the search function...

There are many ways to pursue cultural wins. The most common are

1) Get numerous religions spread into all your cities, build temples, then build a cathedral of each religion in each legondary city. This get's you +50% culture. Don't forget the hermitage.

2) Use one city as a massive Great Artist farm in one of your three cities and drop culture bombs in your other 2 cities.

3) Make sure you adopt the Free Speech civic.

4) WonderSpam.

5) Use corporations, Sid's and Creative Inc. These are the best for late game cultural wins.

6) Cottage spam the three cities, then hike the culture slider as high as you can. Make sure you have Free Speech and Printing Press first.

alfon,

A lot of good advice in here already, but I'll add my two cents. Cultural is probably my favorite victory mode and the one I get most often.

1) The Sistine Chapel is your most important wonder. BEE-LINE to music so you can build this. Not only does music open up the Chapel, but the first to discover it gets a great artist. You can settle this artist in your weakest of the three cities and he'll give 14 :culture: per turn. (plus gold). In the early game that's better than building a wonder there. The Chapel has two other benefits; every specialist gets and extra 2 :culture: and every building of your state religion gets and extra 5 :culture: Doesn't sound like much, but it adds up in a hurry with the multipliers.

2) Free speech is a critical civic. +100% :culture: is a no-brainer.

3) Multiple religions are very important for all the culture producing buildings and for the cathedrals. Spead around the religions far and wide, and get the temples built for each religion as soon as you can.

4) Depending on map size, you'll need at least 9 cities. You need three temples for each cathedral, and to have a cathedral of each religion in each of your Legendary culture cities requires 9. It's 12 for huge maps.

5) If you have a choice, choose a balanced city site for your legendary cities. Balance in terms of some decent production, good food supply is a must, and also think of the cities defense in chosing which cities to make your culture cities. If you have the shrine for a religion that's a big help.

6) Bee-Line Electricity (for Broadway) and Radio (for the Eiffel Tower and Rock n' Roll) in the late game. The ET get's you a free broadcast tower in each city saving precious production.

7) And finally, Resist the urge to stop teching and run the culture slider at 100%. You may win that way if everone likes you, but when Julius Caesar smells blood in his power rating triple yours, it's over. Keep up with the techs and military to defend yourself. Yes you can win much earlier if you run the culture slider high all game, but that's only if you survive. Most of my culture games achieve victory about 1860-1910 a.d. and I'm on par militarily with the AI or can at least repel ANY invasion attempt with concentrated siege, air power, mounted, etc. *Shakes fist at DeGaulle* I almost play culture games like a domination game, and I'm not afraid to skull-thump anyone to pick up a needed religion or a few more good city sites.

Good luck and have fun. :goodjob:
