If any of our citizens have questions about this here DemoGame, please ask. It can get pretty wild in here sometimes and we forget that some are not familiar with the swing of our axe. There is the Constitution and the Code of Laws in the Main Forum, along with a Q&A there. But if you are still questioning the flow of the threads or concerned about meaningless cryptic statements, just ask.

What is the point/draw of it? It sounds like a hyped-up succession game except there's no succession, just different people elected to control different aspects.

This game doesn't appeal to everyone, Elear. It's a community project, so to speak. It has been and still is fun for a good sized group of people. I haven't seen you question the point/draw of contributing to the Saber game. Basically the same thing, only against the AI.
Why not join and experiment with us?

I'm sorry if it sounded like a negative tone. :) It was really a poor choice of words. I'm merely confused given how fast this whole forum has arisen and I wanted to find out personally why people like it rather than read a generalized FAQ answer.
I'll consider it. :king:

If all we did was the game playing then it is a little like a succession game with more formality like votes and assigned leadership positions. Several additional games within the game are possible. Each of them has potential for making it a lot more than a souped up SG.
The DG can be run like a government simulation, where we're acting like we're the citizens inside the game choosing leaders. It also works like a representative democracy with us as the representatives and the officials we elect being the executive departments.
It can be fun to get into character and speak like we're inside the game, acting like we're playing the roles of the leaders. You might see people arguing for an in-game action using terminology appropriate for the period and civ we're playing. This can go as far as having well-written histories, campaign speeches, and polite (or less polite to a point) debates.
Sometimes we run a side role playing game (RPG) with player and non-player characters participating in a cooperative story writing area. An economic simulator is also a possibility.
Citizens can form groups with special missions within the game. For example a druid group (especially useful if we play celts) might argue against any forest chopping. The blacksmith's guild might try to get us to control all the iron on our continent.
Basically, the opportunities are endless! If you think something might be fun, give it a try. :D
